Financial Controller

Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead all accounting and financial operations for a growing industrial fabrication and mechanical services organization. This is a high-impact leadership role partnering directly with executive leadership to drive financial accuracy, profitability, compliance, and strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports. Perform variance analyses and provide actionable financial insights to leadership. Ensure accurate transaction coding by job, cost category, and department. Job Costing & Project Accounting Maintain accurate job costing across labor, materials, subcontractors, and overhead. Reconcile estimated versus actual project costs and identify margin risks. Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and revenue recognition activities. Compliance & Tax Management Oversee sales and payroll tax compliance. Manage exemption certificates and ensure accurate tax reporting and remittance. Support external audits and year-end financial activities. Maintain rolling 30/60/90-day cash flow forecasts. Monitor accounts receivable aging and support collection efforts. Oversee accounts payable processes and align payments with cash flow objectives. Internal Controls & Process Improvement Establish and maintain strong accounting controls and audit trails. Support integration and optimization of payroll, procurement, and job-costing systems. Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes and financial reporting tools. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA strongly preferred. Accounting experience within construction, industrial manufacturing, fabrication, or project-based environments. Cash flow forecasting Proficiency with QuickBooks and financial reporting systems. Ability to effectively communicate financial information to executive leadership. Success in This Role The ideal candidate will: Produce timely and accurate monthly financial reporting.
