Controller - Construction (GC)

Where: West Atlanta Why: Growth Salary: $140k - $180k +/- plus bous, excellent benefits and generous PTO Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Controller who thrives in a hands‑on leadership role. This individual will oversee the accounting function, provide strategic financial guidance, improve internal processes, and partner with leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and sound business decisions. Key Responsibilities Lead all accounting operations, including month‑end close, financial reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, and revenue recognition. Partner with operations to improve job costing, Work in Process (WIP), profitability analysis, and overall financial performance. Enhance accounting processes, internal controls, and compliance with tax, licensing, and financial reporting requirements. Serve as the primary financial contact for banking partners, auditors, bonding companies, and external advisors. Recruit, mentor, and develop the accounting team while providing hands‑on leadership and strategic financial guidance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related experience 4+ years of construction or project‑based accounting experience. Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, month‑end close, and financial reporting Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams in a fast‑paced environment. Advanced Microsoft Excel and accounting software proficiency with strong analytical skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with a hands‑on leadership approach.
