Plant HR Generalist

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Plant Human Resources Generalist to provide essential day-to-day HR administrative support at our manufacturing facility. This person will work across two shifts to ensure we have HR support on 2nd shift. The hours are 11:00 am - 8:00 pm with 60 minutes for lunch. This entry-to-mid level role is ideal for someone with 2+ years of HR experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced plant environment. You will serve as a key point of contact for plant employees, handle HR paperwork and records, support onboarding and recruitment, and help maintain compliance with company policies and employment laws. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personnel files, attendance, and HRIS data entry. Process employee status changes (terminations, promotions, transfers) and prepare related documentation. Handle day-to-day employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, time-off requests, and attendance. Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and answering basic employee questions. Track and report on employee attendance, overtime, and leave of absence (FMLA, medical, personal). Support plant safety and compliance initiatives by helping maintain training records and required postings. Prepare HR reports and documents as requested (headcount, turnover, etc.). Organize employee events, recognition programs, and plant communications. Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, ordering office supplies, and supporting the HR team with special projects. Ensure all HR activities comply with federal, state, and local employment laws. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: 2+ years of experience in Human Resources, HR administration, or a related administrative role (manufacturing or plant environment is a strong plus). Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Epicor, or similar) is a plus. Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Strong communication and interpersonal skills - comfortable interacting with shop floor employees and management. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Knowledge of basic employment laws and HR best practices is preferred.
