Department Name: Environmental ServicesTitle: HousekeeperShift: Day Shift: 7 am to 3:30 pm and every other weekendPART ONE: Dimension and DescriptionPrimary Purpose: To clean assigned areas of the hospital and to maintain the hospital in a sanitary, orderly and attractive condition.Formal Policy-Setting Responsibilities: No formal responsibility. The policies associated with the job’s purpose and essential responsibilities are set by others.Routine Decision Making: Makes decisions on areas that need cleaning in the absence of the Environmental Services ManagerFormal Supervisory Responsibility: No formal supervisory responsibility.Preferred Knowledge: Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines; knowledge of waste and infectious waste and chemicals; knowledge of proper use of personal protective equipment.Unusual Working Conditions: Working with chemicals; risk of blood, body fluid contamination.Education and Certification/ Registration Required for the Position: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
