Lineman for Carolina Power & Signalization

Job Description

Performs diversified electrical construction and maintenance to generating stations, transmission and substations, and distribution lines.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots lines and equipment. Sets and removes poles, installs and removes cross-arms and pins, place and remove electrical conductors, places and removes transformers and any other maintenance duties on energized lines/or de-energized lines. Performs all maintenance duties of a Groundman to a Class B Lineman. Tests and operates overhead electrical distribution, transmission and substation equipment without direct supervision. Performs services and meter installations. Substitutes as Foreman/or Lead Lineman in the absence of the active Foreman and Lead Lineman upon approval of Superintendent. Communicates with the general public and property owners. Observes all safety rules while working on electrical equipment. Train new crew members. Other projects as assigned.

Experience

3 to less than 4 years in overhead line construction. Proficiency in electrical terminology specific to line work. Must supply personal tools. Must hold a valid driver's license and DOT card. Must maintain a safe driving record. Must effectively communicate with management and subordinates.
