Production Lead - 2nd Shift

CNC Machinist/OperatorThis position exists to lead a team of CNC Machinists/Operators. This is a second shift position. Pay: Dollar uplift from employees current rate.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeads, trains, and coaches CNC Machinist/Operators on operations basics, day-to-day challenges and exceptions, machine setups and changeovers, and other higher needs in the departmentKits and stages work orders before distribution to appropriate staff members and locationsResponsible for tool reconciliation at end of each work orderManages Discrepant Material Reports (DMR) within the departmentPerforms Preventive Maintenance (PM) on production equipmentSets up, loads programs, and operates CNC machinesMonitors machine performance by randomly spot-checking products from various machinesEnsures First Article Inspections are completed in a timely mannerIdentifies deviations and makes appropriate adjustments as neededInspects and measures small parts with a high degree of precision and accuracyManages team assignments and schedules, including breaks and lunchesDocuments and reports personnel issues to Department SupervisorOversees, monitors, and coordinates production team activities, giving importance to individual member's and overall team's achievement of established goalsEnsures team's goals are aligned with and representative of the overall company's directiveActs as liaison between team members and the rest of the organizationPerform other related duties as assignedEducationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredCertificate or diploma in machining desiredYellow belt certification preferred or willing to gain within a yearExperienceDocumented experience with leading teams of peopleMinimum 1 years of related experienceMay be entry level if some experience in the skillGains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of disciplineExperience with Statistical Process Controls (SPC)Experience in operating Surface Grinder machinesKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesWorks under moderate supervisionServant leadership mentalityAdvanced knowledge of machining practices, including cutting tool nomenclature and uses, calculations of speeds, material composition, part fixturing, and inspecting and checking methodsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and tool designAbility to solve problems independently or as part of a teamMust be able to promote and work in a highly collaborative environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsGood interpersonal skillsSolid troubleshooting skillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwarePhysical RequirementsFrequent lifting and/or moving items up to 25 lbsRequired to reach with hands and arms to handle documents and productsMust be able to enter data into a computer by use of a keyboard and mouseWork EnvironmentThe work environment conditions are typical of a manufacturing environment.
