Delivery Assistant - Job Description


Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused Delivery Assistant to support daily delivery operations for merchandise such as furniture, appliances, and electronics. This role involves assisting with loading, transporting, and setting up products in customers' homes while providing an exceptional service experience. The ideal candidate is energetic, personable, and comfortable performing physical tasks throughout the workday.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the safe loading, unloading, and delivery of merchandise to customer homes.
• Set up products such as furniture and appliances according to company standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service during every interaction, ensuring a positive experience.
• Conduct basic product demonstrations or explanations when needed.
• Maintain a clean delivery vehicle and report any maintenance needs.
• Review delivery documentation for accuracy and obtain necessary customer signatures.
• Support inventory movement, staging, and organization at the store or warehouse.
• Follow all safety procedures and handle merchandise with care.
• Assist the Delivery Driver with navigation, scheduling, and route planning when necessary.
• Perform other related duties to support store operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record (CDL not required).
• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy items (typically 50-75+ lbs. with assistance).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Previous experience in delivery, moving, warehouse, or customer service is a plus.
