Job Title: Public Health Nurse Consultant Profession: Nursing Specialty: Health Care Duration: 52 weeks Shift: Regular Shift Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: Minimum of four years of professional registered nursing experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: None specified Must-Have: - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines - Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers and multidisciplinary teams - Knowledge of pediatric care coordination, newborn screening, or public health programs - Experience with case management, quality improvement, or program coordination - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data management systems Description: The position will provide clinical case management with newborn screening follow-up. Key responsibilities include providing case management and follow-up for newborns and children with abnormal or questionable newborn screening, hearing screening, and critical congenital heart disease results. Effective communication with healthcare providers, parents, and tertiary care centers is essential. The consultant will respond to inquiries, provide case information, and coordinate follow-up activities. Following established pediatric case management protocols is required with guidance sought as needed to ensure quality patient care and program compliance. Collaboration with nurse educators and healthcare facilities to identify educational needs and support training initiatives related to newborn screening and pediatric case management is expected. Assistance in the development, review, and revision of program policies, procedures, and workflow improvement initiatives will also be part of the role.
