Overview of Unit/Department 4W Med-Surg Cardiac is a fast-paced, dynamic unit that is ideal for nurses who enjoy critical thinking, prioritization, and continuous learning. Our team cares for a diverse, medically complex patient population requiring telemetry monitoring, cardiac interventions, respiratory support, and heart failure management. You will gain hands-on experience with a variety of medication drips, specialized treatments, and procedures that are not typically encountered on a traditional medical-surgical unit. Job Summary The Cardiology Nurse is responsible for managing the care of the adult or geriatric patient experiencing acute, chronic, and/or terminal cardiovascular diseases, comorbid medical conditions, and associated procedures. The nurse must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications and monitor patient response, monitor and interpret telemetry, and provide patients and families with support and education.

Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Experience
Preferred: Previous nursing experience

Licensure/Certification/Registration
Required: RN license active in the state of Missouri Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days Required: Must obtain ACLS within one year of hire
