Unit Secretary - Per Diem/PRN, Weekends Only

Overview Position: Unit Secretary Location: 1199 Pleasant Valley Way, West Orange, NJ 07052 Schedule: Per Diem (PRN), Saturday & Sunday 9 AM–5 PM or 10 AM–6 PM Compensation: $23.50/Hour + Shift Differential Responsibilities Use independent judgment to provide clerical services to the patient care units, including correct transcription of orders, filing of all reports, and arranging for transportation and follow-up/outside tests. Answer the telephone, take and deliver messages by phone or verbally. Maintain close communication with the Charge Nurse/House Supervisor. Handle all necessary paperwork in a timely manner. Order supplies as needed from Materials Management. Verify physician privileges prior to transcribing orders. Transcribe and flag orders from charts. Arrange transport of patients for tests not offered in the hospital. Minimum Requirements Proficient computer skills required. Preferred Qualifications A minimum of 1 year of clerical experience in a medical setting. High School Graduate or equivalent preferred. Per Diem Requirement Four (4) shifts per 6-week schedule.
