Part - Time Instructor, Advanced Manufacturing - CNC Machining - FY 2026Job DescriptionDWED (Department of Workforce and Economic Development) and the Applied Technology Department at the College of Southern Nevada invite applications for a Part-Time Advanced Manufacturing - Machining Instructor within the Advanced Manufacturing Program beginning immediately. The successful candidate will demonstrate industry and teaching experience.ResponsibilitiesThe Advanced CNC Manufacturing Instructor will develop and instruct lab and lecture classes and develop student learning outcomes and course descriptions. This includes organizing instruction towards achieving student learning objectives; selecting textbooks and another curriculum; conferring with students; evaluating student mastery and providing a safe and positive classroom and laboratory environment.Primary teaching areas are in Advanced Manufacturing Technology topics such as:MetrologyGeometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)MachiningCNC Milling and TurningCADD and Additive Manufacturing (Preferred)Automation with PLCs and Robotics (Preferred)Related engineering technology and technical physics classesOther duties will include:Program assessment and curriculum development; student mentoring; assess student learning and progress, scholarship of teaching and learning; maintaining accurate student records, upholding professional and ethical standards, participate in professional development activities; outreach to the college, community, and profession; supervising student assistants and staff as necessary; collaborate with other instructors and staff and duties as assigned by the Director of Advanced Manufacturing.The candidate is expected to participate in student recruitment activities. The candidate will participate and assist the team to maintain and develop strong industry and community partnerships, within and outside of the program advisory committee. They will also commit to continuing their professional development as an educator through attendance at industry conferences and membership in professional associations.Minimum QualificationsAssociate's degree in the following: Industrial or Mechanical Technology; Mechanical Engineering (Degrees in related fields are also acceptable) OR five (5) years of industrial experience in a machining environment ANDA minimum of 1 year of work experience in a machining environment using CNC Mill/Lathe MachinesTeaching experience in Career and Technical Education (Preferred)Preferred QualificationsIn addition to the minimum requirements, the department encourages applicants with the following credentials to apply:Bachelor's degree in education, adult education, or a related fieldExperience teaching IET programs, preferably in a CTE settingExperience teaching ABE, including ESL, math, and reading10 or more years of work experience in Manufacturing or Industrial Technologies5 or more years of work experience in Machining1 or more years of experience teaching in Career and Technical EducationLeadership/ Management ExperienceIndustrial certifications such as NIMS, NC3, etc.Experience teaching online/hybrid classes, CanvasExperience creating a college curriculumExperience developing an industrial lab in a college setting, such as a Machining, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Technologies LabExperience working in diverse multicultural situationsStarting Pay$40.00 per hourExemptYesFull-Time Equivalent48.8%Required Attachment(s)To be considered for this position, please upload the following documents to your application:ResumeCover LetterAcademic TranscriptsContact information for three professional referencesApplicants should fully describe their qualifications and experience with specific reference to each of the minimum and preferred qualifications.
