Job Description
Lead Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Family Medicine – Full-Time
This is a full-time, internal-only position for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to serve as the lead APP in our Family Medicine department. You will work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with scheduled monthly on-call responsibilities (no weekend coverage required).
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead and supervise inpatient family medicine operations, currently managing 140 patients with anticipated growth to 164 patients by Q4 2026
- Provide direct clinical care to inpatients with a focus on behavioral health patients
- Develop and implement clinical protocols and best practices for the inpatient family medicine team
- Mentor and support other Advanced Practice Providers and clinical staff
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including behavioral health specialists, physicians, and nursing staff
- Manage patient caseloads, conduct patient assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning
- Participate in scheduled monthly on-call coverage as needed
- Maintain comprehensive patient documentation and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and departmental goals

:- Internal APP of Henry Ford Health, in good standing
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Minimum 2 years of experience in inpatient behavioral health settings (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license
