Join us-and be part of something built to last.Design and deliver impactful infrastructure projects as a Civil Design EngineerCMT Technical Services is seeking a highly skilled Civil Design Engineer to support and oversee complex civil engineering projects from planning through construction completion. This role requires strong technical expertise, effective coordination skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, compliant, and high-quality engineering solutions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to engineering excellence and continuous improvement.Location: Salt Lake City, UtahFLSA Exemption: ExemptSchedule: Hours may varyWhat you'll be doing:Coordinate civil engineering projects from inception through completion while maintaining schedules, budgets, and quality expectationsProvide technical expertise in the design and analysis of municipal and site development projects, including roadways, grading, drainage, stormwater management, culinary and secondary water systems, wastewater infrastructure, and master planningEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including permitting and approval processesCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including city engineers, architects, planners, geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, and designersDevelop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency of engineering deliverablesSupport business development efforts by identifying opportunities, assisting with proposals, and participating in client engagement activitiesProvide construction-phase support including submittal reviews, site visits, documentation, and resolution of field issuesStay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to improve project outcomes and operational efficiencyWhat you have:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering3+ years of relevant civil engineering design experienceStrong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related civil engineering softwareProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard engineering software toolsExperience with site layout and grading, roadway design, stormwater systems, culinary and secondary water systems, wastewater infrastructure, quantity takeoffs, and contract/bidding documentsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsCommitment to continuous improvement, professional development, and engineering excellenceWhat will make you stand out:Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 12 months of hireExperience with hydraulics and hydrology softwarePrevious experience working on municipal or large-scale site development projectsStrong client relationship and project coordination experiencePreferred Certification(s):Professional Engineer (P.E.)
