Perfusionist (ECMO Specialist)

Job Purpose The ECMO specialist participates in the development of a treatment plan, involving assessment, planning, implementation, and education. They communicate with the ECMO physician and other members of the healthcare team to interpret, adjust, and complete the treatment specific to the ECMO patient care plan. Job Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree. Completion of a designated ECMO training program, and/or formal education in Extra Corporeal Circulation. Licenses and/or Certifications Registered Nursing License issued by the State of Texas Board of Nursing. RRT‑Registered Respiratory Therapist License and Current NBRC – National Board of Respiratory Care. CCP – Certified Perfusion License. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association.
