Certified Surgical Tech III Lead - Women's Center

Job Summary Under general supervision, the Certified Surgical Technologist III functions as a member of the operating room team to prepare sterile supplies and equipment used in surgical procedures and perform appropriate room duties involved with direct patient care. The role requires adherence to established procedural guidelines at an advanced level, advanced knowledge, and critical thinking skills necessary to provide care and/or service appropriate to the developmental level of patients and the needs of their families. Required Credentials Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (formerly LCC-ST). If not certified, evidence of continuous employment in the state of South Carolina as a Surgical Technologist before January 1, 2008. New graduates must obtain certification within 90 days of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 2 weeks of hire; thereafter, maintain a Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Minimum Experience and Training High school diploma. Graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology or a surgical technology military program. At least 6 months experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist (minimum 2 years required for CST III). Completion of all CST III career ladder requirements.
