Job Description

This role supports day-to-day warehouse receiving, shipping, stocking, packing, and inventory activities in a climate-controlled facility. You work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., handling incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining accurate records in the ERP warehouse management system, and ensuring products are stored and shipped correctly. You collaborate with a small team while also working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload incoming small parcel, LTL, and truckload shipments safely and efficiently.
• Visually inspect incoming products for defects and set aside any defective materials for further review.
• Verify packing lists for accuracy and reconcile any discrepancies as required.
• Enter receipts of goods into the ERP warehouse management system, including all pertinent information according to instructions.
• Inspect goods and place materials in designated storage locations within the warehouse.
• Report damaged goods promptly to the supervisor for appropriate follow-up.
• Put away material to the correct warehouse locations using an RF scanner and the ERP system.
• Perform inventory functions such as counting, reconciling records, and assisting with cycle counts as directed.
• Complete all required paperwork related to receiving, inventory, and shipping activities accurately and on time.
• Conduct final shipping inspections and complete checklists to ensure orders are correct and ready for dispatch.
• Report any shipping discrepancies to the manager and assist in resolving issues.
• Place identification labels on packages, skids, and other materials according to established directions and standards.
• Prepare and complete special paperwork for shipment of orders, including documentation for carriers such as FedEx and truck freight.
• Process packages through shipper systems, including systems such as UPS manifest tools.
• Load materials for outgoing shipments, including small parcel, LTL, freight, and dedicated truck loads, following safety and handling guidelines.
• Stock materials in appropriate warehouse locations to support efficient order fulfillment.
• Pack orders securely to prevent damage during transit and to meet customer and carrier requirements.
• Support inventory accuracy through regular checks, counts, and verification of stored materials.
• Operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Collaborate with team members while also working independently to meet daily deadlines and operational goals.

Essential Skills

• Experience with stocking, packing, and inventory tasks in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to follow instructions and coordinate with team members and supervisors.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and the capacity to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping, sorting, checking, counting, and verifying materials and documentation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
• Good visual acuity for inspecting materials and merchandise for defects or damage.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment, including hand trucks and pallet jacks, safely and effectively.
• Willingness to learn to operate a sit-down forklift and apply safe operating practices.

Work Environment

The role is based in a climate-controlled warehouse, providing a comfortable and stable temperature throughout the day. You work a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The environment combines independent work with close collaboration in a small team. Daily activities involve handling small parcel, LTL, and truckload shipments, using an ERP warehouse management system, RF scanners, and shipper systems such as UPS and FedEx tools. You regularly use material handling equipment including hand trucks and pallet jacks, and may learn to operate a sit-down forklift. The facility emphasizes safety, accuracy, and efficiency in all receiving, stocking, packing, inventory, and shipping operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
