Overview Location: Mt. Carmel, Utah. Zion Mountain Ranch is an elevated sanctuary just 3 miles from the East Entrance of Zion National Park, set on a roaming bison preserve. Guests can choose from thoughtfully crafted cabins and bespoke lodges and enjoy on‑site experiences including guided horseback riding, bison feedings, and Cordwood, a field‑to‑fork restaurant featuring ingredients from the ranch’s organic gardens. Team members play a vital role in creating experiences that strengthen guests’ connection to this landscape and its enduring story. The Retail & Campground Operations Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of Zion Mountain Ranch’s retail outlets and campground. This role oversees the day‑to‑day operations of the Gift Shop, manages staffing, sales goals, and inventory, and implements green procurement guidelines, merchandise strategy, safety standards and quality of service. The manager motivates the team to drive sales and meet revenue goals, reports directly to the Administrative Manager, and cultivates a safe, friendly, and fun work environment where outdoor adventure and environmental stewardship are embraced. Responsibilities Execute POWDR inventory activities, ensuring pricing and inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts. Train and develop staff to deliver excellent customer service and operational efficiency. Uphold and communicate environmental, safety and quality (ESQ) standards and ensure teamwork accountability. Manage labor, payroll, and expenses to meet annual budgetary goals. Create engaging merchandise displays and collaborate with leadership on marketing, sales and branding initiatives. Administer POS functionality: accurate product setup, item tree display, discounting options and operator security. Procure equipment, retail soft goods and accessories; assist with logo apparel design and branding. Match orders, reconcile invoicing, conduct monthly retail inventories, and coordinate receiving of ordered items. Execute ESQ target implementation, monitor performance, and report progress to management. Lead employee relations activities, including hiring, recruitment, performance management, coaching and professional development. Document employee issues, enforce policy, and promote a positive staff experience. Conduct regular safety and hazard analyses with the team and ensure completion of all required trainings, emergency drills and new‑hire orientations. Oversee campground operations: reservations, site assignments, guest services, facility maintenance, occupancy monitoring and guest feedback. Collaborate with maintenance and housekeeping teams to address operational needs and maintain safety, cleanliness, and environmental standards. Qualifications 2+ years of leadership experience in retail, hospitality, campground operations or a related field. Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage teams and drive results. Experience with POS systems, inventory management and scheduling tools. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Strong customer service skills and a friendly, outgoing attitude. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Comfortable operating POS systems, handling cash and processing transactions accurately. Availability to work weekends, holidays and peak seasons. Physical Demands & Work Environment Ability to stand and move for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 40pounds. Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to navigate uneven terrain in campground areas. Compensation & Benefits Annual salary: DOE. Eligible for discretionary bonus.
