Prototype Extrusion Screw Lathe Specialist

- Do you thrive on one-off parts where interaction and problem-solving are the norm?
- Are you comfortable restarting a program mid-cycle, tweaking toolpaths and offsets on the fly?
- Can you read prints, follow detailed instructions, and own quality from first chip to final inspection?
- Do you enjoy switching between CNC and conventional machines when the job calls for it?
Build precision injection molding and extrusion screws used in plastics manufacturing systems. You’ll work with alloy steel, tool steel, and heat-resistant materials like Inconel, across a broad envelope—from about 1" OD by 20" long up to 10" OD by 25' long.
Your Tools- Fryer CNC lathe running a Siemens control (2–4 axis)
- On-machine conversational programming, supported by CAM software
- Conventional gear: knee mills, horizontal boring mills, and manual lathes
- Set up the machine, program conversationally at the control, and execute machining operations
- Deburr and inspect your own work throughout the process
- Make real-time adjustments and restart programs mid-run as needed
- Follow prints and detailed instructions to deliver precise results
This isn’t a typical push-the-button CNC shop. Most jobs are unique, and production quantities top out at five pieces. Your expertise—not automation—drives precision and finish.
