Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the Opportunity A well‑established, multi‑disciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing Dallas practice. This individual will serve as a technical lead on complex geotechnical projects across the commercial, industrial, transportation, and public infrastructure sectors, while mentoring junior staff and partnering closely with clients throughout Texas. Key Responsibilities Lead geotechnical investigations, analyses, and design recommendations for a variety of ground‑up and redevelopment projects. Prepare and review proposals, geotechnical reports, and technical deliverables with a high level of accuracy and professional judgment. Oversee field exploration programs, laboratory testing, and construction‑phase geotechnical support. Provide technical leadership on foundations, retaining structures, pavements, slope stability, ground improvement, and earthwork‑related designs. Serve as a client‑facing representative—building relationships, attending project meetings, and supporting business development initiatives. Mentor and guide junior engineers, engineering technicians, and project managers. Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and industry best practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering required; Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred. Texas PE license (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe). 6-12+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience. Strong foundation in soil mechanics, foundation design, retaining structures, and geotechnical modeling/analysis software. Proven experience preparing geotechnical reports and leading complex projects. Excellent communication, leadership, and client‑management abilities.
