Haul Shift Supervisor
This position plans, organizes, coordinates, and monitors the performance, safety, training, and work activities of plant operators. Also ensures plant equipment and process control conform to established production quality, quantity, and safety parameters. Assignments are primarily routine in nature and carried out in accordance with general work instructions, practices, procedures, and precedents. This employee is one of 4 reporting to the Superintendent of Operations.
Essential Job Functions: Include but are not limited ot the following:
- Provides onboarding job orientation for all new or transferred employees to ensure their understanding of safety standards, working expectations, and procedures. Structure a learning environment conducive to the attainment of required operator skills.
- Determines and/or monitors the subsequent training needs of subordinates to provide skill improvements which align with present and future business requirements. Coordinates identified training needs with the plant manager.
- Plans, organizes, coordinates, and monitors operators' activities to ensure: optimal safety of operations and personnel, production schedules and quality standards are achieved, operating costs are contained through efficient use of personnel, machinery, materials, and operating procedures, questions, concerns, and requests are addressed in a timely manner, and performance standards are met.
- Routinely inspects plant/pond equipment for operational integrity. Initiates work or work orders required to retain equipment in proper operating condition.
- Frequently responds to changing conditions influencing processing plant. Must interpret and resolve such conditions in a timely and accurate manner. Ability to collect and accurately assemble data in a logical manner.
- Completes all required documents, including, but not limited to, production reports, time cards, performance documentation, and safety reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Conducts meaningful performance reviews with subordinates. Ensures operators meet established safety/performance standards.
- Performs other assignments as directed by the Area Manager, not otherwise depicted in this general description.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. - Must have 3+ years' experience leading a team in an industrial environment.
- Must have verifiable experience demonstrating effective team-building and leadership abilities.
- Prefer an undergraduate degree and or specialized equipment certification.
- Ability to use basic computer systems and Microsoft Office tools effectively.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in written and verbal workplace communication
