Overview ****** $20,000 Sign on Bonus ****** The Trauma/Burn Unit is a high energy unit focused on the intensive care and treatment of patients that have experienced critical illnesses as a result of trauma or burn injuries. Because this unit cares for complex patients, there is a heightened opportunity for learning and growth alongside a team of experienced nurses, doctors, respiratory therapists, social workers, pharmacists and other health care professionals. The Trauma/Burn Unit registered nurse will be provided with the education and certifications needed to develop and grow in this role. Springfield Memorial Hospital is a Regional Burn Center which is one of a limited number of hospitals in the state of Illinois who provide care to burn patients, serving a wide region across central and southern Illinois. The ICU provides intensive care for burn patients before transferring the patient to a lower level of care and rehabilitation. Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be able to position and/or transfer an average adult patient and possess gross coordination sufficient to perform other patient care duties as required. Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing. Must be able to perform difficult manipulative skills such as IV insertion and IM injections.
