Responsible to assist with the operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties/facilities.

Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building systems and equipment, including:Packaging and handling machinery Plumbing systems Kitchen equipment Roofing and drainage systems Shop and grounds equipment HVAC systems
• Clean, lubricate, and service a variety of equipment, including:Pumps and valves Pneumatic controls Electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
• Assist with the installation, modification, and maintenance of building equipment and systems.
• Repair and replace building finishes, including:Ceiling tiles Door hardware Wallpaper Painted surfaces, piping, floors, and equipment
• Troubleshoot operational issues and recommend improvements, upgrades, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Safely operate and maintain tools and equipment used in facility and grounds maintenance.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and customer service requests.
• Conduct inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify unsafe conditions, maintenance needs, and preventive maintenance opportunities.
• Maintain and operate life safety and fire protection systems, including:Fire alarm systems Fire pumps Related fire protection equipment
• Perform general carpentry work and snow removal as needed.
• Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, company policies, and safe work practices.
• Utilize technology tools such as smartphones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, and building automation systems.
• Complete all required Cushman & Wakefield safety training annually.
• Adhere to company uniform and appearance standards while on-site.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

Required Experience

• Related maintenance experience is preferred or trade school program

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical, vocational, or hands-on training in one or more of the following areas:HVAC Electrical Mechanical systems Process controls Mechanical power transmission Painting Plumbing Carpentry Engine repair
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record (commercial driver's license may be required for certain locations)
• Basic computer proficiency, including:Microsoft Outlook Microsoft Excel Microsoft Word

Additional Requirements

• May be the only maintenance team member on duty during certain shifts.
• May be required to work overtime or extended hours in response to emergency situations.
• May be required to work shift schedules and/or participate in an on-call rotation.

Work Environment

This position operates within commercial building environments and may include both indoor and outdoor work. Employees regularly use standard office and maintenance equipment, including computers, mobile devices, phones, and facility maintenance tools.

• Perform physical maintenance tasks that may require bending, climbing, lifting, carrying, and working in varying environmental conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others and exchange accurate information; operate a computer and other office productivity machinery; move about the workplace; remain in a stationary position for 10% of the time; and extend hands and arms in any direction.
