Network Planning Sales Engineer Associate (Fall 2026) San Francisco

Overview Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits and provides dedicated, secure networks to global customers, including large enterprises, governments, and the U.S. military. The company designs, builds, and operates satellites from its Northern California HQ and is expanding with upcoming launches and a growing backlog of commercial contracts. Network Planning Sales Engineer Associate (Fall 2026) Associate positions at Astranis typically last twelve weeks and are salaried roles designed for new graduates who have completed a four-year university degree. As an Associate, you will work on challenging problems and gain exposure to meaningful work on projects that impact space systems and network planning. Several former associates have contributed to hardware/software that travels to space and many are now full-time employees. Role: Pre-sales and post-sales network architecture and planning, optimizing high-throughput satellite networks by evaluating and trading dozens of parameters, including but not limited to: Digital payload configuration Orbital slot selection and frequency planning Gateway location selection User terminal selection Networking / modem equipment selection and configuration The role provides a balance of technical and business/customer-facing responsibilities, with high visibility and impact. This role includes 1:1 mentorship from a senior sales engineer to enable rapid learning and growth. Requirements: Strong ability to optimize systems by juggling multiple variables and performing detailed trade studies Process-oriented mindset and the ability to anticipate features needed from internal and external tools Scripting experience, preferably Python Enjoy a fast-paced environment with a constructive level of chaos Open to applicants who do not meet every criterion Bonus: Strong math aptitude Ability to craft high-quality presentations, present to partners, and answer technical questions succinctly Willingness to travel up to 10% Compensation: The base salary for this position is $1,925 per week.
