Direct Counsel represents an AmLaw 100 firm offering an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Asset Management Transactions Associate to join a premier corporate practice. The team represents a diverse client base, including asset managers, private equity firms, GP staking firms, banks, insurance companies, and other financial institutions, as well as founders, management teams, and boards of directors.
About the Role
The Asset Management Transactions Practice is seeking highly qualified associates with a minimum of 4 years of experience in asset management M&A , including experience with GP stakes and control asset management transactions , to join the firm's 5th through 8th year associate classes .
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling sophisticated corporate transactions involving asset managers, investment funds, broker-dealers, financial advisors, and other financial services businesses. Candidates should demonstrate strong transactional skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to work effectively on complex, high-value matters with sophisticated clients.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant legal experience in asset management M&A
- Experience with GP stakes and/or control asset management transactions strongly preferred
- Strong corporate and transactional background
- Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage complex matters and work collaboratively within a sophisticated, interdisciplinary team
- Strong academic credentials and professional experience preferred
- Active bar admission in the applicable jurisdiction
