Discover a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students across K-12 environments in North Kansas City, Missouri, for the upcoming academic year. Paraprofessionals play an integral role in fostering inclusive, supportive classrooms and ensuring every student receives the attention they need to succeed. This assignment begins August 25 and runs through May 28, with placements available in elementary, middle, and high schools and potential to work at more than one site as needs arise.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Missouri Substitute Certificate (SUB CERT) listed on the DESE website OR completion of the ParaPro Exam with transcripts on file—must be active to interview
• Experience in K-12 educational or special education environments strongly preferred
• Comfortable supporting students with toileting, personal care, and behavioral interventions
• Flexible and adaptable, able to work across various grade levels and school sites
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, aides, therapists, and support staff

Responsibilities:

• Assist students 1:1 or in groups in SPED classrooms, providing instructional support and personal care as needed
• Implement behavior intervention plans and support students with diverse abilities and needs
• Collaborate with educational teams to deliver respectful, dignified assistance
• Adapt to varying schedules and travel to multiple schools within the district if required
• Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate cultural sensitivity at all times

Schedules vary by school site:

• Middle School: 7:00 am – 2:30 pm
• High School: 7:30 am – 3:00 pm
• Elementary: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm or 9:00 am – 4:30 pm

Prescreen interviews will be conducted prior to final interviews. Candidates should be open to floating assignments and must meet district fingerprinting requirements.
