Region: Americas Country: USA State/Province: Texas City: Richardson General Overview Job Title: Associate Engineer, Program/Project Management Functional Area: Engineering (ENG) Career Stream: Engineering Program/Project Management Role: Associate Engineer (AST) Job Code: AST-ENG-EPM Job Band: 06 Direct/Indirect Indicator: Indirect Detailed Description The Associate Engineer, Program/Project Management is accountable for planning and assisting design engineers and other technical engineers working on specific projects. They manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of simple designs. They are responsible for managing new development efforts on programs in the Sustain phase. Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following: Coordinate PMO activities around quoting schedules and Design costs for customer RFQs Work with CX-Sustaining team to coordinate and manage CLS internal Change Requests to products in mass production Work with PMO Staff to streamline/automate weekly, monthly reporting. Work with the PMO team to help manage one or more projects of low complexity (technology, organizationally). Lead cross-functional, global core team(s), kick off programs, establish schedules and drive meetings. Present and communicate status to functional management and may have customer interaction. Implement change as directed in the product lifecycle process. Assist in planning the overall program and monitor the progress. Drive the creation, review, approval and update of the Program Plan/WBS including resources. Daily program management throughout the program life Work with the program core team to meet or exceed program objectives (Cost, Quality, Schedule, Features, Fulfillment/Continuity of Supply, Solution delivery across products & service offerings, Customer Specific Needs) Manage the program’s budget. Forecast actuals against planned/quoted budget Manage risks and issues and taking corrective measurements Coordinate the projects and their interdependencies. Manage and utilize resources across projects Align the deliverables (outputs) to the program’s “outcome” with the aid of the functional manager Manage the main program documentation, such as the Program Phase Exit presentations and checklists Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Enabling Competencies Project Management - Ability to manage a single line engineering project with a limited number of participants. Create a project/change management plan, establish and distribute project roles, and communicate what is needed from the project participants in order to make the project successful. Leadership - Demonstrate "Individual Leadership Behaviors" as per Celestica Leadership Imperatives. Financial Acumen / Business Planning – Solid understanding of Celestica’s budgeting and accounting system and the cost accounting practices relevant to engineering work. Always act with the awareness of your work's impact on financial results. Communicate clearly and timely all aspects of your work that may have an influence on the profitability of the project and/or what is necessary for proper accounting and controlling.
