Job Summary
W e are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the design, engineering, and delivery of modular data center infrastructure projects.
Job Description
- Support the Engineering Manager and take ownership of key technical aspects of modular data center projects.
- Coordinate with Sales, Project Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Construction, Commissioning, and other functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Lead technical discussions and provide engineering guidance to team members.
- Support the onboarding, development, and technical mentoring of engineers as project requirements and team responsibilities grow.
- Manage engineering activities across multiple projects, clients, and project phases.
- Develop engineering scopes of work, execution plans, schedules, and technical deliverables.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Ensure engineering designs meet customer requirements, applicable codes and standards, safety regulations, and established engineering best practices.
- Provide technical oversight of mechanical systems and infrastructure across multiple projects.
- Identify design risks, develop solutions, and ensure technical issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Maintain engineering quality and consistency throughout the design and delivery process.
- Develop, review, and approve mechanical engineering deliverables, including: Equipment lists, Valve lists, Piping layouts, Line lists, Mechanical equipment data sheets, Pipe sizing calculations, Piping stress analysis calculations
- Prepare technical requisitions and specifications for mechanical systems and equipment.
- Support the design and engineering of piping, mechanical, and fire protection systems.
- Provide piping loads and other technical information to structural engineering teams.
- Evaluate equipment installation requirements, mounting systems, coatings, materials, and installation methods.
- Coordinate mechanical engineering requirements with structural, electrical, architectural, and other engineering disciplines.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for clients throughout project execution.
- Participate in design reviews, customer meetings, technical presentations, site visits, construction activities, and commissioning.
- Respond to client and project team technical questions and provide timely engineering solutions.
- Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams during project execution.
- Review field conditions and assist with resolving installation, design, and technical issues.
- Manage engineering changes, revisions, and technical documentation.
- Ensure project documentation remains accurate, complete, and aligned with approved designs and customer requirements.
- Stay current with modular data center technologies, mechanical systems, infrastructure solutions, and industry trends.
- Recommend innovative engineering solutions that improve project reliability, efficiency, safety, quality, and cost effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, design standards, and project execution.
- Support the evaluation and selection of equipment coatings, mounting systems, materials, and installation methods.
- Contribute to lessons-learned initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
S kills Required
- Minimum 7 years of mechanical engineering and design experience, preferably in industrial facilities, large infrastructure projects, manufacturing, or data center environments.
- Demonstrated experience with: Mechanical systems, Piping systems, Fire suppression or fire protection systems, Industrial or infrastructure projects, Construction and commissioning activities
- Strong understanding of engineering codes, standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Experience developing, reviewing, and approving technical drawings, calculations, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written, verbal, and client-facing communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Preferred Industry Standards & Codes Knowledge
- Experience with engineering, design, BIM, and project coordination software, including: SolidWorks, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, BIM 360, Navisworks

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Other engineering disciplines may be considered with significant relevant experience.
Pay Rate
- $57 - $72 pe r hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
