Sales Support Specialist - Manufacturing

Currently, we have an excellent opportunity for a Sales Support Representative at our corporate headquarters in Wheeling, IL. Job Responsibilities Manage customer accounts with objectives to increase customer satisfaction, gross margin, and sales. Handle customer requests including quotes, orders, follow‑up, and delivery information. Resolve customer matters, issue credits, debits, and authorize return goods. Communicate customer requirements to Operations & Engineering. Monitor price inventory agreements. Support members of the outside sales team. Work well in a team environment to solve customer issues. Communicate issues and problems with management in a timely manner. Maintain superb attention to detail and detailed documentation to support decisions and ensure continuity of service. Process 50‑75 larger orders with multiple line items per volume range. Work on the Power Transmission Team serving international and domestic clients. Rotational Phone and Email Duties The role alternates weekly between managing 210‑265 emails daily and handling phone calls. When assigned to phones, about 70% of the day is spent on calls, averaging ~45 calls per day. Calls are routed to the employee’s desk; the associate must answer the call and can use a headset. Employees may momentarily mute calls for breaks and other work. The position is not required to be on the phone 100% of the day because other tasks exist. System and Process Proficiency Use QAD and Felix systems for quoting, order entry, tracking, and inventory management. Perform meticulous order entry with strong math skills (fractions, decimals) and attention to ship‑to addresses. Manage shipping and routing decisions, selecting appropriate carriers and handling complex codes (collect, prepaid, third‑party) to ensure correct freight payment. Conduct thorough contract reviews for orders and quotes, verifying all details before processing and sending confirmations. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of manufacturing sales support or customer service experience. Experience managing product knowledge in a previous role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated order entry experience. Strong detail orientation, multitasking, professionalism, and task orientation. Preferred Qualifications Experience with QAD software. Job Type & Location Contract to Hire position based out of Wheeling, IL. Full onsite work required. Pay and Benefits Pay range: $28.00 – $28.00 per hour.
