Commodity Manager - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Commodity Manager for a hybrid position with a Global Industrial Equipment Manufacturer located in Oak Brook, IL. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity. Compensation: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications Position Overview: This role is part of a high-demanding and high-performing team, seeking a self-starter who can hit the ground running. The Commodity Manager will handle all tasks up to contract signature, including data analysis, supplier negotiations, surcharge management, and reporting. The position requires a background in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing, preferably at a global level. Key Responsibilities: Perform data science and data analytics, resourcing actions, supplier negotiations, surcharge management, reporting, and payment resolutions Analyze and evaluate external price trends and new product offerings to reduce overall purchasing costs Collaborate with suppliers to assure the quality of their products, materials, and components Ensure suppliers can meet forecasted demand Coordinate efforts in the reduction of purchasing/engineering costs and establish costs for new products Participate in design and/or technical reviews Select, recommend and manage relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors Read and understand blueprints and specifications Primary Requirements: Minimum of 5+ years of experience with a specific commodity (8-12 years preferred) Mandatory experience with SAP and advanced Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, macros) Background in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing Must be able to read and understand blueprints and specifications Logistical knowledge Able to perform a technical review and quality of product review Desired Skills: Experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing at a global level Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
