Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting high school students with diverse learning needs for the 26/27 school year. This full-time role focuses on providing academic instruction and fostering growth in students requiring cross-categorical support. Serving a caseload of approximately 7 students, you'll have the chance to make a significant impact by developing individualized strategies that encourage both academic achievement and self-regulation in a collaborative setting.
What You'll Need:
- Appropriate certification and credentials to teach Special Education at the high school level
- Experience or strong interest in cross-categorical classrooms
- Knowledge of instructional methodologies for students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Ability to develop and adapt IEPs to address individual student needs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Capacity for collaboration with general education staff, related service providers, and families
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging academic instruction tailored to the skills and needs of each student
- Create and implement effective classroom management and self-regulation strategies
- Develop, update, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with legal requirements
- Maintain clear and ongoing communication with parents, guardians, and colleagues
- Support students in building independence and confidence within the school setting
- Track and report student progress toward IEP goals
Working Monday through Friday, with a 37.5-hour workweek, you'll be part of a supportive educational environment where your expertise will help shape positive outcomes for students with mild academic and self-regulation needs.
