Software Engineer

Software EngineerLockheed Martin's Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Software engineer.In this role, you will contribute to the systems and software design of complex combat management capability threads as part of the Future Combat Systems team. You will learn to use a model-based systems engineering approach supporting requirements, performance, and functional allocation of software components. You will also be working on the design, development, and test of containerized software applications in a microservice based architecture. The software engineer will help to test the software in a Kubernetes environment.The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge in developing software using Java, C++, and/or Python.Basic QualificationsBachelor of science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or closely related technical fieldMinimum of 2 years professional experience with design and development of software using Java, C++ or PythonAbility to obtain & maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
