As an Access Control Officer at a shelter location, you will help create a welcoming, orderly environment by monitoring entry points, verifying access, greeting residents and visitors, and responding to security-related concerns. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeTue03:00 PM - 11:00 PMWed03:00 PM - 11:00 PMThur03:00 PM - 11:00 PM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or service providers while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate. Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization, issue and collect visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access-control records. Control entry and exit at assigned locations, communicate access concerns to appropriate site contacts, and help to deter unauthorized entry. Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner. Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the perimeter, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns according to site procedures. Minimum Requirements: Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
