Division 7500/75PCU is a fast paced Cardiovascular Surgery division made up of 25 beds with a mix of step down and pcu beds. We care for a variety of complex cardiovascular surgery patients including aortic and abdominal aneurysms, thoracic outlet syndrome, carotid artery disease, aorto-iliac and lower extremity occlusive disease, peripheral vascular disease, arrhythmia surgery, endoscopic coronary artery revascularization, valve repair and many more. The Staff Nurse (RN) is an integral part of the patient care team using critical thinking skills and clinical expertise to continually assess the patients'; status. The Staff Nurse (RN) is trained in critical care and will be certified in BLS, ACLS, ACUTE CARE, arterial line monitoring, and pacer wires. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides multi-skilled, direct patient care, under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse. This job requires completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent (fundamentals, foundations, or adult/peds health. Responsibilities Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology. Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary. Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs. Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team. Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports abnormal findings to the nurse. Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.
