For more information, please visit fluenceenergy.com.Job Description:Role OverviewThe Senior Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for implementing and advancing cybersecurity engineering practices across Fluence software products, operational technology (OT) environments, and supporting infrastructure. This role contributes to secure design, implementation, and operation of systems supporting grid-scale energy storage solutions.The position requires strong hands-on expertise in cybersecurity engineering, OT network security, cloud and infrastructure security, and industry standards. The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer works closely with product, software, networking, and operations teams to integrate security into development and deployment processes while ensuring alignment with business and operational needs.This role provides technical guidance within the team and supports the execution of cybersecurity initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to cybersecurity architecture and support implementation across product, OT, cloud, and network environmentsImplement security requirements in product development and deployment processes, ensuring secure-by-design practicesExecute vulnerability management activities, including scanning, analysis, and remediation tracking for Fluence OSSupport risk assessments, threat modeling, and security reviews for product features and deploymentsAssist in designing and implementing network segmentation, access control, and monitoring solutions for OT environmentsApply cybersecurity standards (IEC 62443, NIST, NERC CIP, etc.) into engineering practices and configurationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into product and infrastructure workflowsSupport evaluation and deployment of security tools, automation, and monitoring solutionsContribute to documentation, hardening guides, and security baselinesRequired Qualifications & Experience8–12 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, preferably with exposure to product or OT/industrial environmentsExperience implementing cybersecurity controls in network, cloud, or infrastructure environmentsFamiliarity with OT/ICS environments or industrial networking conceptsStrong understanding of vulnerability management, threat modeling, and security best practicesHands-on experience with Linux systems and security toolingKnowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as IEC 62443, NIST, or CISAbility to work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teamsStrong problem-solving and communication skills Proven experience designing and leading cybersecurity architecture or large-scale security initiativesStrong expertise in network security, OT security, cloud security, and secure infrastructure designExperience securing industrial control systems (ICS) or operational technology (OT) environmentsDeep understanding of vulnerability management, threat modeling, and risk-based security practicesHands-on experience with Linux-based systems and security tooling in complex production environmentsStrong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as IEC 62443, NIST, CIS, or NERC CIPDemonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and influence engineering decisionsExcellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and risks to engineering leaders and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across teamsOur CultureAt Fluence, our culture is the foundation that drives our ambitious growth strategy and fuels our mission to transform the future of energy.
