Established National Firm Seeking Associate Attorney for Commercial Litigation in El Segundo, CA
An established regional firm with over 34 years in practice is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2-5+ years of experience to join its El Segundo, CA office onsite. This role offers hands-on work in commercial litigation, including business disputes, breach of contract, business torts, and unfair competition matters, representing clients ranging from emerging companies to Fortune 100 businesses in litigation and advisory matters.

Salary range: $145,000-$195,000+, contingent on experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off and paid holidays Discretionary bonus eligibility
Qualifications
2-5+ years of commercial litigation experience at a law firm Experience handling business disputes such as breach of contract, business torts, partnership and shareholder disputes, and unfair competition matters JD from an accredited law school and active admission to the California State Bar Strong working knowledge of California state and federal court procedure, including pleadings, motions, and discovery practice Experience taking and defending depositions and supporting cases through trial preparation Excellent legal research and writing skills with the ability to draft persuasive motions and briefs Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a caseload independently and meet deadlines Collaborative style with strong communication skills for working with partners, clients, and colleagues
Responsibilities
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal briefs in commercial litigation matters Manage a caseload of business disputes from case intake through resolution Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony Conduct legal research and analyze complex issues to develop case strategy Appear at court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences Support partners with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness outlines, and trial briefs Communicate regularly with clients on case status, strategy, and developments Meet billable hour expectations while maintaining high quality work product
