Position Purpose: All KHI employees are expected to perform their respective tasks and duties in such a way that supports KHIs vision of providing the regions best clinical care and patient service through an environment that fosters respect for others and pride in performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
- Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in dynamic environment.
- Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures, functions as primary liaison between clinic patients, staff, and providers.
- Responsible for maintaining all applicable KHI Policies and Procedures.
- Escorts patient to exam room and prepares patient for exam including vital signs, history, and reason for seeking care.
- Cross trains in data entry, balancing of accounts, charges fees and collect payments due.
- Schedules/confirms appointments.
- Reports as necessary to Public Health at direction of provider.
- Maintains work area including exam rooms, supplies, medication, and immunizations.
- Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens.
- Performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
- May perform venipuncture.
- Participates in division meetings.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate of a Nursing Diploma program
- Licensure: Current, valid Arizona RN license or compact state RN license
- Certification: BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Skills and Knowledge: Ability to communicate effectively with others
