Job DescriptionPaving Screed Operator – Lead Asphalt Mat Quality & Precision for Adcamp Inc.\n\nJob Overview:\n\n Company: Adcamp Inc.\n Location: Flowood, MS\n Job/Employment Type: Full Time.\n Schedule: Monday - Friday (Some Saturdays required).\n Project Scope: Commercial, Industrial, Government, and Federal.\n Mandatory Licences & Certifications: None Required.\n\n\nThe Opportunity: \nYou will serve as a critical field leader within our paving division, controlling mat thickness, slope, and surface smoothness. This role gives you the autonomy to manage real-time screed adjustments while receiving the backing of a team that knows you by name. You will directly protect the quality of major civil projects by ensuring every asphalt pass meets design specifications.\n\nHow You Will Make an Impact:\n\n Operate and adjust the paver screed to achieve specified mat thickness, cross-slope, and surface texture.\n Make real-time screed adjustments in response to changing mix temperatures and subgrade conditions.\n Monitor and maintain a consistent head of material across the full screed width to avoid defects.\n Set screed extensions, end gates, and auger extensions accurately for variable-width paving.\n Coordinate closely with the Paver Operator on machine speed, temperature settings, and stopping procedures.\n Participate actively in joint construction, including heating joints and placing precise wedge cuts.\n\n\nRequired Qualifications & Experience:\n\n Minimum of 2 years of verifiable screed operation experience on commercial or roadway paving projects.\n Working knowledge of screed mechanics, including vibratory systems and tamper bar operations.\n Proven ability to read and interpret detailed paving plans, cross-sections, and smoothness specifications.\n Solid reputation as a reliable team player who understands paving aesthetics and structural standards.\n Physical stamina to ride the screed and work in outdoor environments for extended shifts.\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications & Experience:\n\n Demonstrated expertise in managing edge details and material distribution under variable mix conditions.\n Experience performing pre-shift equipment checks and routine maintenance on screed heating components.\n Prior experience executing complex joint construction on tight-tolerance government or federal sites.\n\n\nCompensation & Benefits:\n\n Weekly pay cycle with substantial overtime potential and annual performance bonuses.\n 401(k) retirement savings program featuring competitive employer matching contributions.\n Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options for peace of mind.\n Life and disability insurance options along with a company-provided tech package.\n Paid time off including scheduled holidays, vacation, and sick leave.\n Company vehicle, safety equipment, and access to annual corporate trips and outings.\n\n\nAbout Us:\nAdcamp Inc. is a leading name in civil and heavy construction, specializing in commercial and government projects.
