Job Description

The Shipping Clerk ensures that all outgoing shipments are accurately prepared, securely packaged, and compliant with customer and company delivery requirements. This role manages the full shipping process, including documentation, scheduling, and coordination with internal teams, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Pack and ship merchandise according to established procedures and standards.
• Ensure all parts are packaged properly to prevent damage during transit.
• Review and follow customer requirements or ATA SPEC 300 for special packaging sequences.
• Process air waybills and related shipping documentation, verifying all information for accuracy.
• Schedule carrier pickups as required to meet delivery timelines.
• Ensure all required documentation is packaged with parts before shipping.
• Scan and upload all documents and photos related to each sales order into the internal system.
• Communicate with the Pre-Ship Team regarding shipping-related issues or discrepancies when necessary.
• Handle special projects or additional duties as assigned.
• Perform material handling tasks such as picking, receiving, and inventory-related activities as needed.
• Lift and move packages and materials weighing up to 50 pounds in a safe manner.

Essential Skills

• Proven shipping experience in a warehouse, distribution, or shipping and receiving environment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds safely and consistently.
• Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes, including material handling and order picking.
• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Experience working with domestic and international shipping regulations.
• Knowledge of carrier computer systems such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, or similar platforms.
• Ability to use shipping programs and carrier software for label creation, documentation, and tracking.
• Proficiency working on a computer, including data entry and basic system navigation.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to check documentation and packaging for accuracy.
• Capability to work independently while communicating effectively with internal teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• HazMat training or certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and associated software, including inventory management systems, ShipStation, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience processing international shipments and understanding related documentation requirements.
• Exp in inventory control, receiving, or warehouse operations.
• Comfort working with digital imaging or document scanning tools.
• No aviation experience is required for this role.

Work Environment

This position operates in an air-conditioned work environment designed to support comfort and productivity throughout the day. Standard hours for the shipper role are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing a predictable and consistent schedule. You will work around typical warehouse and shipping equipment, including packaging materials, computers, scanners, and carrier systems such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, and related shipping software. The environment involves regular material handling, including lifting packages up to 50 pounds, while maintaining organized workstations and safe handling practices.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plant City, FL.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Plant City,FL.
