Gastroenterologist - Atrius Health

We are seeking a Gastroenterologist to join our team in Medford, MA. Optum is a clinician‑led care organization that is changing the way clinicians work and live.

Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities

• Performs physical assessments on patients with specialized conditions
• Develops and implements a plan of care for these patients, including prescribing medications, exercises, and other treatments
• Collaborates with the clinical and administrative teams in the management of patient care. Maintains continuity of care through the exchange of information with outside health and social agencies
• Serves as a liaison between primary care providers and specialists such as general surgeons, urologists, orthopedic and ENT surgeons. Consults with primary care providers on issues related to patient care
• Teaches and counsels individuals and groups regarding specific health care needs. Serves as an educator in areas of specialization
• Participates in the development of health education programs

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathic Medicine
• Board Certified or Board Certified Eligible in Gastroenterology
• Current active DEA licensure/prescriptive authority or ability to obtain post‑hire, per state regulations
• Current active Massachusetts DPH Controlled Substances Registration or ability to obtain post‑hire, per state regulations
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty

Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $386,500 – $757,500. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
