Through our nine locations across Texas and Kansas City, MO, we provide a comprehensive array of products, services and integrated systems that help our customers streamline the storage and movement of their goods.JOB SUMMARY:The Parts Associate will be responsible for researching and supplying parts and accessories over the counter, through the shop or on the phone to meet internal and external customers’ requests. Ensures appropriate stock and inventory of parts and accessories by requisitioning through various sources. The ideal candidate should be able to work in a team environment, be mechanically inclined, stay organized and possess strong communication skills. This opportunity represents Shoppa’s Material Handling and requires professionalism, attention to detail, great attitude, and outstanding customer service.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Keep constant communication with dispatch and field technicians on daily schedules, order status and needed partsCoordinate with shop manager and shop technicians on order status and needed partsGreet and serve every client courteously and promptlyAnswer questions and assist them in identifying and obtaining needed partsFulfill orders and requests for information efficiently via telephone as well as over-the-counter clientsSpecify and identify parts needed to meet client requirements, so that number of parts returns due to errors is lowMaintain accurate sales and inventory records of all line itemsEnsure parts are charged to repair ordersRequisition non-stock or special-order partsFollow up on special ordered items, and notify the client or technicians when receivedLocate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submit an emergency order, if necessaryUpgrade knowledge of products and services and maintain professional and technical expertise by training on-the-jobManage and assign field technicians to service calls in your regionReceive customer callsDetermine the customers’ needs and urgencyAnalyze current scheduleFinalize the service call date and time with the customerEnter the service request and call notes into the systemAssign a technician to the service callEnsure the necessary parts are ready for the jobConfirm job completion and document result of jobCollect and document technician labor hoursReview billing information to ensure accuracyMinimum 3 years parts handling experience; prefer 2 years material handling equipment parts experienceProficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.); MS Navision, SAP preferredAuto, truck, military or industrial equipment parts handling will be consideredStrong mechanical aptitude and a team playerPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:The physical demands and working conditions requirement indicated below are examples of the demands that must be performed in carrying out the essential job functions.Physical Demands:Sitting, standing, and walking (up to continuously); frequent use of computer and telephone requiring repetitive finger, hand, and arm movement; occasionally carry office supplies and other miscellaneous items up to 50 pounds.
