Job Opportunity: Geriatrician

Our organization is currently looking for a Board Certified or Eligible Geriatrician to deliver inpatient consultative care to older adults at our medical center located in Portland, Maine.

Join a close-knit, collaborative inpatient team consisting of three seasoned physicians and two Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) dedicated to offering Age-Friendly 4Ms care to older adults at Maine's largest Level 1 trauma facility. Although this position primarily focuses on inpatient care, our Division of Geriatrics encompasses 16 physicians and 18 APPs who cater to older adults across various settings, including inpatient, facility-based, and outpatient primary care. Our team is committed to enhancing quality improvement, system enhancements, and ensuring smooth transitions of care.

• Provide inpatient Geriatric consultations five days a week, emphasizing complex care coordination and effective medical management for hospitalized older adults.
• Engage with medical students, residents, and fellows, offering teaching opportunities both at the bedside and in formal educational sessions.
• Collaborate with various specialties and disciplines to advance Age-Friendly Care throughout the healthcare system.
• Participate in the Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP), a program that has been a hallmark of excellence at our medical center for over 20 years.
• This position does not require participation in overnight on-call duties.
