Structural Design Engineer

Structural Design Engineer – Cincinnati, OH Our client, a national construction products manufacturer, is seeking a Structural Design Engineer. As a crucial member of the organization, you will specialize in structural engineering design, offering vital technical support to our dynamic engineering department, sales team, operations crew, and our customers. Your role will revolve around Stormwater products, involving design, installation, and evaluation. You will be the architect behind precision as you meticulously prepare and certify structural calculations and drawings, ensuring the reliability of our products. Responsibilities Design and Technical Support: Provide project‑specific design services focusing on precast products – including preparation of engineering drawings and calculations, review of project plans, development of project solutions, and technical advice to assist the engineering team with integration and acceptance of the company’s products into site plans. Structural Analysis: Perform structural analysis of precast manholes and vaults. Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with in‑house engineers, CAD Techs, sales team members, and external engineers in specifying and designing products, and offer technical support to the manufacturing team to ensure proper fabrication. Communication: Handle inquiries from the field sales team, outside consultants, and plant personnel by providing competent technical advice and input. Standards and Best Practices: Maintain engineering standards, policies, best practices, and procedures to contribute to risk management efforts, and assist in developing training programs and materials for the company’s products. Professional Development: Maintain knowledge and certifications in the civil/structural engineering field by attending industry trade shows, continuing education courses, and seminars as necessary. Field Support: Travel to job sites to provide technical support, consultation, and evaluation related to the company’s products. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, with a strong preference for a degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis. EIT (Engineer‑in‑Training) required. At least two years of experience in civil engineering project work preferred. Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office required; AutoCAD proficiency preferred. Exposure to finite element analysis and/or structural analysis software a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
