About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required, 5 years preferred License: NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, Telemetry Must-Have: Neuro experience, Epic charting experience, MS/Tele background Description: The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patients' needs. Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Develops, implements, and coordinates individualized plans of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments. Initiates assessment based on the patient’s problems or needs, physician’s medical diagnosis, and functional health framework. Performs therapeutic nursing interventions. Manages care of patients. Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities. Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery. Provides patient-centered care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model. Floats to units within competency as required. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Required skills include neuro experience, Epic charting experience, and ventilator management (preferred). Preferred skills include post-cardiac surgery experience and post-surgical experience.
