Responsibilities
- Assist with menu planning to ensure variety, nutritional value, and adherence to dietary guidelines
- Prepare food items according to standardized recipes, ensuring proper portioning and presentation
- Execute food preparation tasks including slicing, chopping, cooking, and plating using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Maintain strict food safety standards during handling, storage, and production to prevent contamination
- Serve meals efficiently while providing friendly customer service to residents or guests
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food and ensuring timely delivery
- Follow safety protocols in the kitchen environment to uphold health regulations and prevent accidents
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience with menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and handling practices within the food industry or restaurant settings
- Strong culinary skills including knife proficiency, slicing techniques, and meal preparation expertise
- Familiarity with food safety management systems and food handling regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and assist residents or guests effectively
