Shipping Lead

Lead assigned workers in the receipt and shipment of high-quality dairy products by coordinating the daily work assignments. Be actively engaged in the selection, staging, rotation, loading and shipment of all company products. Continually and consistently in force GMP and housekeeping policies. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least 1 year of related experience.

Essential duties and responsibilities include actively enforcing safety rules and company policies by leading by example, planning and organizing available resources to best meet load out, quality, and safety goals, leading daily shift meetings, effectively communicating and coordinating product/resource availability with production department, actively engaging in waste reduction efforts in all areas, leading continuous improvement efforts as assigned, responsible for maintaining high sanitation standards, ensuring all required process control documentation is completed, overseeing incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy and condition of shipments, training new employees in job duties, required to cover various positions and shifts in department when needed, and promoting retention and providing a workplace culture that is clean, organized, positive, safe and that supports the mission, vision, guiding principles, and values of the organization.

Basic requirements include a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and at least 1 year of related experience.

Competencies include communication, accountability, customer focused, initiative, problem-solving, and collaboration.

Physical demands include sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, talking and hearing, standing, walking, reaching, bending, extending, and lifting 50-60 pounds, and reaching and handling dairy products and pushing and pulling stacks of products weighing up to 200lbs.

Work environment may require working in the cooler room with varying degrees of temperature and may include contact with water or dairy liquids, exposed to a noise level of 90 decibels, and wet/slippery work conditions.
