POS & Field Service Technician

Position Overview We are looking for a dependable, technically minded Field Service Technician to support POS systems in the field. This role is primarily focused on on-site troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of POS hardware and related equipment. Most issues involve physical hardware, connectivity, or basic configuration problems that can be resolved in the field. When deeper software or system-level issues arise, you will coordinate with internal support while on site. Prior POS experience is not required. We provide training on our systems and tools. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with technology, enjoys troubleshooting, and can solve problems independently in the field. Daily travel throughout the Bay Area, Northern Central Valley, and surrounding Northern California regions is sometimes required. A company vehicle, company phone, and company gas card are provided. Occasional overtime and overnight travel may be required based on service needs and installation schedules. Responsibilities Install, configure, and test POS terminals, printers, scanners, payment devices, and related hardware Diagnose and resolve on-site hardware, connectivity, and basic network issues Replace or repair defective equipment as needed in the field Perform preventative maintenance and routine service at customer locations Coordinate with internal support for software or system-level issues while on site Document service work, issues, and resolutions accurately Maintain inventory of service parts and equipment Process RMA equipment, including testing returned devices, documenting failures, and coordinating replacements or repairs Travel throughout assigned service areas for installations, maintenance, and service calls Participate in occasional overtime and after-hours support when required Qualifications Required Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to learn Comfortable working with computers, hardware, and basic networking concepts Ability to work independently in the field and manage daily service calls Good communication and customer service skills Ability to use hand tools and handle hardware installations Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record Must be insurable and maintain driving eligibility Preferred Experience with IT support, field service, copier/printer repair, telecom, or similar technical roles Familiarity with Windows systems or basic networking Bilingual English/Spanish Technical certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, etc.) What We Offer Company vehicle Company cell phone Fully paid health and dental insurance (no employee deduction) Paid training on POS systems and equipment Stable full-time employment Small team environment with real responsibility and autonomy Opportunity to grow technical skills in a specialized industry Benefits Company car Dental insurance Fuel card Health insurance Paid time off #J-18808-Ljbffr Tri-Valley Career Center
