Data Center Technician

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Data Center Technicians to support our customers in multiple locations. This position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. This position involves hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair and may include participation in an on-call rotation. All candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful. In addition to hardware and network repair candidates will install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, and fix problems within the Data Center Space. This team works in an environment that operates 24/7.

Key job responsibilities:

• Repair and replace server hardware components
• Troubleshoot network links by cleaning and replacing fiber components
• Replace network devices
• Responsibly handle data storage media
• Stay compliant with AWS health and safety trainings
• Contribute to data center safety, security, and availability

All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations: Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds. Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed. Some regional travel may be required.
