Senior Accountant

Job Details: Job Location: ST GEORGE, UT 84790, Position Type: Full Time, Job Category: Accounting, The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, analyzing financial data, and overseeing accounting operations like accounts payable and receivable. Key duties involve preparing financial statements, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with audits and taxes. This role also ensures compliance with standards like GAAP, and improving financial processes. Essential Functions Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Analyze financial data, including budgets, costs, and variances, to provide insights to management. Oversee the general ledger, perform account reconciliations, and verify bank statements. Support and manage the month-end and year-end close processes. Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls. Other job tasks and functions as assigned. Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, with a master's degree or CPA often preferred. Proven experience as an accountant is essential, often with a minimum of 3-5 years. Advanced skills in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, are required. Thorough understanding of GAAP, financial accounting principles, and business trends. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are crucial, along with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication skills.
