Practice Oliver Wyman’s Private Equity team in North America supports private equity investors throughout the entire deal transaction life‑cycle—from opportunity identification through due diligence and post‑transaction value realization. The team blends deep industry and functional expertise with proprietary approaches and a world‑class network to help clients achieve differentiated results on both deals and post‑transaction work. Location Boston, Washington DC, New York, Chicago, Dallas Roles Senior Consultant and Associate Responsibilities We are not typical management consultants; we provide industry‑ and discipline‑specific knowledge, amplifying our impact and shaping the future for our clients. The team is looking for experienced professionals who are already working in, or interested in, focusing on one or a subset of various industries serving private equity clients. These industries include FinTech, Aerospace & Defense, and Education. Your work will involve commercial due diligence, customer research, strategic problem solving, and collaborating fluidly with a talented team. Qualifications Professional working experience with exposure to commercial due diligence in a management consulting firm. Experience working across or within private equity industries. Knowledge and in-depth experience with customer research techniques (interviews, surveys, focus groups, etc.). Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in formal and informal settings. Fluent in English. Undergraduate or advanced degree from a strong academic program. Initiative‑taking ability, seeking opportunities to learn new skills and applying existing ones. Creativity and aptitude for generating novel solutions to clients’ biggest problems. Aptitude for analytical work, spotting insights in large data sets and identifying key issues in complex challenges. Willingness to work fluidly and respectfully with a talented team. Benefits Applicable base salary range: $135,000 – $195,000 (determined by experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education). In addition to base salary, the position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
