Transmission Work Planner

Transmission Work Planner Ams is seeking an energetic professional to plan and supervise vegetation management work in an outdoor, fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate will work independently and responsibly to ensure safety, quality and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Safety & Compliance Identify and report safety hazards, incidents and unsafe conditions. Follow AMS safety standards, including safe driving, wildfire prevention and injury prevention protocols. Promote AMS values in daily actions and encourage others to do the same. Field Operations Safely drive to work sites and hike right‑of‑way up to 10 miles per day. Navigate steep terrain and dense vegetation to traverse right‑of‑ways. Inspect and document vegetation work (pruning and removal) at customer properties. Record vegetation data using tablets and specialized software. Use forestry computing systems for data entry and tracking. Customer & Stakeholder Relations Address customer concerns and complaints promptly. Communicate effectively with leadership, auditors, clients, contractors, landowners and the public. Maintain positive public relations through professional conduct. Emergency Response & Other Responsibilities Participate in storm and emergency response duties as needed. Carry out additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Knowledge of tree species identification, hazard tree assessment, invasive species management and tree growth patterns. Experience with GIS software, Microsoft Office and Apple products (iPhone & iPad). Ability to hike or walk steep, vegetated right‑of‑ways, drive for extended periods and work alone in various weather conditions. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, problem‑solving and multi‑tasking skills with strong attention to detail. Must be able to adapt to change. Valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Must pass pre‑employment drug test and criminal background check. Preferred Qualifications ISA or equivalent certification. Bi‑lingual (English/Spanish). Physical Requirements and Working Environment The role requires walking or hiking up to 10 miles per day, operating a motor vehicle, standing, bending, kneeling, running, crawling, climbing and lifting light to moderate loads (up to 60 lbs). Field work takes place in outdoor environments with variable terrain, weather extremes, noise, dust, grease, smoke, and potential hazardous traffic conditions.
